What We Believe…
… And Why
- We believe in the Virgin Birth. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:27)
- We believe in the deity of Christ. That God came to earth in the person of Jesus, fully man and fully God, in order to fulfill His redemptive plan (John 1:1, John 20:28, Acts 20:28)
- We believe in the blood atonement. Jesus at the cross lay His life down for us, that through His pure and perfect sacrifice we could obtain a relationship with God. (Romans 3:25, Romans 5:9, Ephesians 1:7)
- We believe in the bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Jesus’ physical human body hung on that cross, was taken off, buried for three days, and rose, conquering death. He ate with His disciples, was touched by them, and was seen by many. He ascended into heaven and will return in like manner. (Luke 24:36,51 Mark 16:19)
- We believe that Scripture is inerrant, trustworthy and reliable. God gave us His word as a way to communicate with us the things we need to know in order to live a life that results in both a saving faith and a life with a bigger calling and purpose then self. (Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20)
- We believe that salvation is by grace through faith and not of works. (Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 Romans 10:8-13)
